James J. Vavra, Jr., age 78 longtime resident of Geneva Township, WI passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at his residence. James was born April 9, 1940 in Elkhorn, WI, the son of the late James and Mavis (McGee) Vavra. He married Linda Lauritzen on November 29, 1969 at the Como Community Church. James was employed at American Motors/Chrysler as well as Trostel in Lake Geneva. James was the devoted husband of Linda Vavra and loving father to Randall, Melissa, Robert (Shelly), and Rachel and grandpa to Noel Grace. He is also survived by his twin brother Gerald (Marge) Vavra, sisters Rosemary (Al) Kordoske and Diana (Ken) Johnson, sister-in-law Bette Russell as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry Vavra. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church (700 N Bloomfield Road, Lake Geneva) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral service at 12 p.m. with a lunch to follow. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Lake Geneva. In lieu of flowers please bring a donation for the Lakeland Animal Shelter (P.O. Box 1000, Elkhorn, WI 53121) in James’ name.
